Anne Marsh (Dip.T., M.Ed.)
I completed my masters when I was in my 40s while juggling several teaching contracts and running The Student Tuition Centre. On any one day I was teaching students from primary to high school to university.
I set up the Student Tuition Centre in Napier in 1995 as a working single mother to two beautiful, now adult, daughters, one of whom has high functioning Autism.
I have helped over 200 families since opening. I only take a few students in at a time so that I can work one-on-one with them, and also very closely with the family. Then the student is able to practise the skills I have coached them at home, and they make much faster progress.
I have written a book for families that give them practical, research-based tools to help their children become excellent students. Check it out at The Families As Coaches
I believe that we grow together with our children, and that the relationship we form with them is continually developing and deepening. That is certainly true of my girls and I. I wish you lots of fun with your children as you grow together. When things get tough between you, stop and listen closely for as long as it takes to fully understand what is happening.
